La Hacienda Links Golf Resort, formerly known as Alcaidesa Golf, located in Sotogrande on the coastline of the Costa del Sol, boasts views of the sea, Gibraltar and Africa.
The resort features two championship layouts in the newly redesigned Links Course with undulating fairways and pristine views of the Costa del Sol and the traditional Heathland Course that offers natural scenery and matching Mediterranean sea views.
As part of its multi-million-Euro investment project, La Hacienda Links Golf Resort is set to open the Fairmont La Hacienda hotel in the coming months, with 311 units of accommodation, which will feature a wide range of amenities, including five restaurants and bars, swimming pools, spa and fitness centre. Currently, the resort offers a wide choice of accommodation options in Alcaidesa and Sotogrande, all located within close proximity to the golf courses.
As the only links-style layout in southern Spain, La Hacienda’s signature Links Course pays homage to renowned California links designs, such as Pebble Beach and Cypress Point. Newly redesigned by American architect Kurtis Bowman, it offers unique views of the entire city of San Roque and extend over the Mediterranean Sea.
Its sister Heathland Course was crafted by Dave Thomas, renowned former Ryder Cup player and author of numerous critically-acclaimed layouts. It blends a traditional heathland layout, with wide fairways and outstanding views of the Mediterranean, with an undulating topography, where holes meander along the valley, incorporating several water hazards.
The recently renovated driving range and short game practice area, which includes an 2 putting greens and bunkers, sit next to a contemporary clubhouse that holds the newly transformed Pro-Shop and the Sal Verde restaurant, also recently modernised with a stylish look and feel.
Within easy reach of a range of accommodation options to suit the needs of all travellers, La Hacienda Links Golf Resort will be home to the 5* Fairmont La Hacienda Hotel in 2025.
For those seeking the ultimate golfing lifestyle, the resort will soon be home to a number of elegant and secluded real-estate opportunities. Fifty-one luxury villas with hotel services are set to be built over the next year, as part of the transformation project. The gated golf and residential development will be set on 400 hectares on land with beachfront views of the Mediterranean, Gibraltar and Africa.
