Designed by Tim Lobb, in partnership with European Golf Design, Linna Golf’s course was completed to the highest criteria of design in line with USGA specifications. Opened for play in 2005, the 18-hole layout meanders through a mature pine and birch forest adjacent to the beautiful views of Lake Katumajärvi, with water coming into play on several holes.
Linna Golf has established itself as a championship venue and played host to several professional and amateur events, including the European Amateur Championship in 2010, the European Amateur Team Championship in 2014 and the European Tour’s 2017 Senior Classic. From the 7,000-yard championship tees the course provides a stern test to the best of professionals, while the club tees and large greens present a fair challenge for an enjoyable playing experience.
Described by five-time Open Champion Peter Thomson after his round as “the most luxurious golf resort in Northern Europe”, the venue offers a selection of first-class amenities including an exquisite clubhouse with traditional Finnish saunas.
